Friday, I left a copy of Culturematic at the Thrift store in Stamford, Connecticut.
I felt a little odd leaving a copy on their library shelf. A kind of reverse shop lifting. Shop leaving?
But, really, it's win, er, win. The thrift store gets a little notice.
If someone buys the book,…

Kris Østergaard said… Thanks a lot, Grant! Very intrigued by Culturemati. Looks like something my company DARE2 is actually doing (thats my intuitve feeling, anyway), but cannot quite identify exactly what it's all about :-) Where should I look to get the low down?
Kris Østergaard said… Hi Grant. Just read the Fast Co article, but is there somewhere I can find a definition / description of Culturematic here in this forum?
Kris Østergaard said… Thanks! Will get back to you on DARE2 and culturematics. Just replied to your tweet, but your feedback actually answers that. Thanks!
PS: Just saw the recommendation from Joe Pine. We work a lot with him - very cool guy and great recommendation. Congrats!
All the best,

Cameron Maddux said… Hey Grant,
It has been the last weeks of classes so I've been slammed and only gone through half the book so far. I'll finish it this weekend without a doubt. (Bringing it to Maker Faire!)
But
I love it so far. I'll pen a review for Amazon soon.
And yes, I have a Culturematic on the way - I'm going to launch a Culture Lab of some sort at the school in the Fall. People are already creating a map-making division of it.
Cameron Maddux said… Will do. I'm planning on buying a Kindle version (too many things need highlighting, notes and searchability - I just finally went to the e-book darkside last month. I miss the passing-on factor, but love using books as a tool) - but if you send me another copy I'll pass it on to a Culturematic student. My classes were quite excited that I brought "I'm on a Boat" into the classroom and was able to add relevance to the conversation with it. Thanks for that. And I will definitely let you know about the lab as it comes to be. Thank you so much for grabbing my attention and putting this all together.
Lisa Parrish said… Hi Grant. It was so great to see you and thank you for the book. I will let you know when I'm back in Berlin and the book is planted. Hope to see you next time. Thank you!

Daniel Sutton said… The only drama school I know of (outside of my beloved Martin Agency!) is called SPARC...http://www.sparconline.org/ This is a youth oriented school that I believe takes students 6-18.
Grant McCracken said… Excellent. Thanks. I will keep noodling!
Tom Daly said… Thx, Grant. You bet, will do! Sent off to Earls to take part, too - maybe he can develop something for the Olympics.
